Andhra Pradesh Government To Procure Over 5 Lakh Tabs With Byju’s Content For Students

The Andhra Pradesh government announced on Monday that it would spend a total of Rs 512 crore to buy over five lakh tablet computers (tabs) with Byju’s e-learning content pre-loaded, to be given to students of state-run schools, as well as over 72,000 TV sets, which would be gradually installed in classrooms.

Senior officials attended a meeting with the chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to discuss “Nadu Nedu” (our school: then and now). In addition to smart TVs and interactive TVs, the government would be purchasing 5,18,740 tablets with Byju’s material already loaded on them.

According to the officials, 72,481 TV sets are required and will be installed in classrooms over the course of several phases at a cost of Rs. 512 crore. The first round of digitization would be finished by March of next year, according to an announcement quoting officials. Mr. Reddy definitely declared that a monthly assessment of amenities and other factors should be done at schools renovated under the “Nadu Nedu” scheme.

 

According to him, the maintenance fund’s use should be included in the audit’s purview, and a phone number should be posted for complaints, if any. A toll-free hotline, according to the officials, is already available. The Chief Minister stated that all schools must have internet access by March of the following year and that the first phase of classroom digitization must be finished. In addition to schools, all village secretariats, RBKs, and village clinics should have internet access.
