Young revelers of DAVRKP celebrated Navratri and Dusshera on 1th October. kids were dressed up in traditional attire and the whole school resonated with joy and happiness. It is also a day to appreciate the contribution of older people. With this mindset, grandparents of some students were invited to witness the Bal Ramayana of DAV RK Puram. The act of inviting loving elders was done to imbibe the importance of older people in our lives.The celebration embodied with the nine forms of Goddess Durga and followed by Durga Aarti.
All these forms are worshipped during the festival of Navratri where each of the nine manifested forms are venerated respectively for each night. Tiny tots were courageous enough to personify these forms of Maa Durga which are: Shailaputri, Brahmacharini, Chandraghanta, Kushmanda, Skandamata, Katyayani, Kaalratri, Mahagauri and Siddhidhatri. Their performance took us to a space where everything around is divine. The live musical dance performance and Durga Aarti represented by our little ones was commendable.
The much-awaited segment of the programme, Ramayana, opened with a profusion of colours, rhyme and rhythm. The bubbling tiny tots, well organized took the stage with confidence and enacted their parts with diligence. The narration and dialogues with appropriate stage decoration created an aura of brilliance, transporting the audience to the world of the epic.
The children enacted as the four brothers born at Ayodhya; the palace of Dashrath. Gradually growing, they had to leave the palace and go for an exile of 14 years. Jatayu, Kevat, Sabri, Hanuman played excellent roles on the stage while helping Shri Ram. In the later part of Ramayan,Ravana got killed by Shri Ram which was followed by return of Shri Ram, Sita and Laxman to Ayodha after the exile. They were welcomed by the queens and people of Ayodhya who celebrated the return in form of dance. At the end of the programme elderly people ( grandparents) shared their pot of experiences which encouraged children to explore their potential.
