The Beginning of a Beautiful Journey, Ramjas International Inter – School MUN

“In the world of MUN, diplomacy becomes an art, and resolutions pave the way for a better tomorrow.”
Ramjas International School is in the midst of its Golden Jubilee Year. To mark its 50th year, Ramjas embarked on the journey of its very first Ramjas International Inter School MUN. The two- daylong event began on the 7th of August and concluded on the 8th, with over 300 students participating from 19 different schools.


The RIRKPMUN started with an enthralling opening ceremony, which was a mixture of entertainment with a choir and dance performance, learning, and encouragement. The ceremony was graced with the presence of the Chief Guest, Sh. Sunil Kumar Gautam, Commissioner of Police, Training, Delhi Police, Chairman, Shri. Raj Nath Gupta, Director, Mrs. Rachna Pant and Principal, Ms. Richa Sharma. The Chief Guest in his address stressed on the importance of the Model United Nations. He added that steps such as these play a crucial role in facilitating students’ growth into responsible Global Citizens. Shri. Raj Nath Gupta Ji, Chairman, Ramjas International School congratulated the students and staff on the 1st Edition of the Ramjas International Inter- School MUN. He wished all delegates the very best for a truly enriching experience. Mrs. Rachna Pant, Director, Ramjas International School, said that the MUN would provide all delegates a platform to debate, to differ, to concur, to express and to inexorably move towards amicable solutions. She added that the mini simulated world would promote research driven information and knowledge. The ceremony came to an end as the Secretary General Ms. Kavya Joshi declared the competitive yet full of knowledge and learning experience officially open.

There were a total of five committees namely the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), United Nations Women (UNW), the All India Political Parties Meet (AIPPM), and the G20 debating through the two days upon their respective agendas based on the issues of the contemporary world. They were accompanied by the sixth committee the International Press (IP), which worked arduously to bring the happenings of the committees to the people. The first day came to an end with an entertaining prom evening where the delegates let go and had fun, dancing to the rhythms and clicking pictures.

On the second day, in addition to the debates, there was a panel discussion, moderated by the Mrs. Rachna Pant, Director, on the topic “Indian Digital Rupee: A Landmark Initiative” where the panelists expressed their opinions on the same.

The closing ceremony, in the presence of two distinguished individuals namely, Ms. Rimjhim Goura, a public policy research and analysis futurist, a data driven serial social entrepreneur, a G 20 speaker, an ACPYL fellow and former Psepholofist as the Chief Guest and Mr. Jayant Kumar, who works with UNDP as a Project Analyst providing technical support to the Government of India as a Thematic specialist on various issues as the Guest of Honour.
The prize distribution lived up to its title as the most awaited event, with awards given to the best from each of the committees. Holy Child Auxillium bagged the trophy for the ‘Best Delegation’ The newsletter and the Ramjas Newspaper were also unveiled and the conference came to its end with the Secretary General declaring it closed.
