CBSE launches helpline number to create awareness on COVID-19

The Central Board of Secondary Education has launched a helpline for its students in order to create awareness regarding Coronavirus spread in the country. The helpline number – 1800118004 will be active from 8 AM to 8 PM until March 31, 2020.

Currently, the 23rd edition of the CBSE Annual Pre Exam Psychological live tele-counseling for the students appearing for the class 10 and 12 board examination is available from 8 AM to 10 PM.

The CBSE in a statement released said that with the helpline services started by the board, it plans to create awareness on the COVID-19 pandemic. The board has also played an active role in creating awareness to the general public with the help of social media by issuing guidelines to the parents and students and the affiliated schools for creating awareness about the pandemic and the preventive measures. The board also changed the seating arrangements in the examination hall to curb the spread of the virus.

The Ministry of Human Resource Development directed the CBSE along with the other educational institutions to postpone all the examinations along with entrance examinations like JEE Main 2020.
