Teacher Capacity Building Workshop at Blue Bells English Medium School
Indrayani Nagar, August 27, 2024 – Blue Bells English Medium School hosted a one-day capacity building workshop for teachers, featuring Dr. Kajal Chhatija, Director of United International School and Founder & CEO of Edudrone – We Connect Pune. The event, held from 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., saw the participation of approximately 15 enthusiastic teachers.

Opening Ceremony:
The workshop commenced with a warm welcome and token of appreciation presented to Dr. Chhatija by the school’s directors, trustees, and Principal Mrs. Naina Rathod.

Workshop Goals and Teacher Expectations:
The program aimed to enhance teachers’ understanding of personality development, work ethics, classroom management, and unconscious bias. Teachers were encouraged to develop their personal and professional skills, with the ultimate goal of supporting their students more effectively. Participants expressed a desire to become better versions of themselves and to excel in all situations.

Main Concepts Covered:

Personality Development:
Dr. Chhatija introduced the session with a motivational quote, emphasizing the importance of self-respect. The session covered dressing and presentation skills, essential soft skills, and an activity on self-introduction.

Work Ethics:
The session began with an ice-breaking activity, transitioning into discussions on fixed and growth mindsets. Teachers participated in activities and viewed video clips highlighting equality and ethics, concluding with a phrase and paraphrase exercise.

Classroom Management:
Recognizing the need for holistic learning, this session focused on effective classroom management techniques. Teachers engaged in group activities, discussed common classroom challenges, and created their own “Fab 15” rules for classroom management.

Unconscious Bias:
Dr. Chhatija emphasized the impact of teacher bias on students’ success and well-being. The session highlighted the importance of listening to students and making thoughtful decisions to foster a positive classroom environment.

Conclusion:
The workshop concluded with the distribution of participation certificates by Dr. Chhatija and school leaders. Principal Mrs. Naina Rathod delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude for the insightful and engaging session. The event successfully introduced new skills and techniques for both professional and personal development, leaving teachers motivated and better equipped to support their students.
