Education Minister: The Centre would establish model schools known as ‘PM Shri schools.’

He requested comments from states and the education sector in order to develop a futuristic benchmark model in the shape of PM Shri Schools.

Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Education Minister, stated on Thursday that the government is in the process of constructing model schools known as ‘PM Shri Schools.’

“PM Shri Schools will serve as the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 laboratory.” He stated on the second day of the National School Education Ministers’ Conference in Gandhinagar, “They will be completely prepared to train kids for the future.”

He requested comments from states and the education sector in order to develop a futuristic benchmark model in the shape of PM Shri Schools.

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, union minister of state for education and skill development, education ministers from several states, chairperson of the steering committee for developing a new National Curriculum Framework K Kasturirangan, and senior officials from the education ministry and state governments were among those present at the conference.

“The next 25 years would be critical in establishing India as a knowledge economy dedicated to global wellbeing… “We are a civilization that believes in Vasudhaiv Kutumbukam, and we must recognize that we have duties not just to our nation, but also to the rest of the globe,” he stated.

The minister emphasized the NEP’s 5+3+3+4 strategy, emphasizing ECCE, teacher training, and adult education, integrating skill development with school education, and prioritizing learning in the mother tongue as steps toward developing global citizens for the twenty-first century.

The minister emphasized that exchanging experience and information from all state Education Ministers in organized and outcome-based talks at today’s conference will take us one step closer to reshaping the learning landscape in accordance with the NEP 2020. He expressed optimism that the discussions taking place at this conference will help to enhance the country’s education system.
