8th June 2022, Wednesday-The Bharat Scouts & Guides is a voluntary educational movement for young people without distinction of origin, race, or creed. The purpose of the movement is to develop the character of the youth and selfless service to the country to become responsible citizens.

The Scouts & Guides movement is one of the largest Uniformed International Youth Organizations having 64 million members in more than 161 countries. It is affiliated with the World Organisation of Scout Movement (WOSM) and the World Associations of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS). And, on the basis of its numerical strength, The Bharat Scouts & Guides stand fourth in Scout Wing and First in Guide Wing at the World Level.
Scouting & Guiding in India mirrors firm determination, commitment to ideals, and dedicated service to the Nation and World brotherhood. Scouting/Guiding is a non-formal educational movement with training methods based on laws that Promise and are suited to various age
groups. It makes the Scouts & Guides resourceful, self-reliant, and ever helpful towards others, helps to discover their latent faculties and talents, as well as encourages them to express the same creativity.
The qualities inculcating through training are the ability to adapt and acquire a sense of responsibility, leadership, development skills, and management techniques. Training to the entrants is given through discussions, skill demonstrations in camps, and participation in various Community Development Programmes. Camps are organized at various levels like Rallies, National Integration Camps, Jamborees, symposiums, Youth Forums, Discussions, Skill Development Training, Disaster Preparedness, Management Techniques, etc. In order to avail of the immense benefits of the Bharat Scouts & Guides movement, the Schools that do not have the Scouts & Guides Unit may apply directly to respective State Associations.

Scouting / Guiding encourages young people to acquire a sense of belonging, curiosity about the world, tolerance for others, and a variety of practical life skills.

Instructions:
1. Forms should be submitted separately for Scout/Guide Group.
2. To be made out in Quadruplicate and forwarded to the Secretary of the Local/District Association who will then
get the forms signed by the Commissioners concerned and send them to the State Headquarters for approval
and registration.
3. Registration Forms should be submitted along with the requisite Affiliation fee and individual registration fee.
4. The State Secretary after registration will issue a charter as per APRO -I

 

There shall be a separate Group for Scouts and a separate Group for Guides. The Group may either be sponsored or open.
Explanation: A Sponsored group is a Group attached to an Institution recognized by the National Association or the State Association and any other Group is an Open Group.
The basic Organisation in the Scout and Guide Movement is a Scout Group and Guide Group respectively.
1. A Complete Group of Scouts Shall consist of three units, namely a Cub Pack, a Scout Troop, and a Rover Crew, and may consist of any one or more of the said section or of the same section.
2. A Complete Group of Guides shall consist of three units, namely a Bulbul Flock, a Guide Company, and a Ranger Team, and may consist of any one or more of the said section or of the same section.
3. Where a Group consists of more than one unit, a person other than the persons in charge of such units shall be appointed as Group Leader and on such appointment, he/she shall be issued a warrant. Provided, however, wherever and whenever necessary, the person in charge of one
of the Units may be appointed as Group leaders.
Group Registration :
A Group shall be registered with the State Association through the Local and District Association and on such registration; the State Association shall issue a Charter signed by the State Chief Commissioner and State Secretary and by virtue of such a charter the Group Organisation shall function as such.
The registration shall be renewed annually. The Group shall pay such registration fee as may be fixed by the State Executive Committee. Failure to pay the registration fee and Individual Registration Fee shall be entitled to cancellation of registration.

Unit Leaders to fill up the Group Registration form (proforma attached) and deposit the required fee as decided by the State / District Association. The address of the State Association is available on our website www.bsgindia.org (Click on the Menu and under the Membership Growth Tab)  Start the activities of your unit as per the program given in Aims, Policy, Rules, Organisation (APRO II) for Scout Wing and APRO III for Guide Wing  Uniform is mandatory when you take part in any event outside your unit. Uniforms should be worn as per the APRO II / III of the respective sections. Progress of the Unit Leaders should be along with the progress of a boy/girl.
