Gurugram : On April 27-28th, 2023, Ajanta Public School, Sector 31, Gurugram organised ‘AJANTA PREMIER LEAGUE’ wherein football and lawn tennis tournament was organised for students. The tournament was organized by the school’s sports committee with the help of teachers and coaches. Participants from prestigious institutions from all over Gurgaon, participated in both the sports with immense joy and gaiety. In the opening ceremony the Managing Director of the institution- Sh. Ramesh Kapoor, Director and Principal Mr. Vaibhav Kapoor and Head Mistress Mrs. Rhythm Kapoor graced the occasion by their presence. The inaugural ball touching ceremony was carried out by Mr. Vaibhav Kapoor and he also wished good luck to all the participants.
In the football tournament, the games were played in a knockout format, with the winning team progressing to the next round. The matches were played on a regulation-sized field with two 30-minute halves. The competition was intense, and the matches were closely contested, with some games ending in a draw and being decided by penalty kicks.
In the end, KR Mangalam bagged the first position followed by Euro International School and then followed by Ajanta Public School. The players from all teams displayed excellent sportsmanship and teamwork, and the tournament was an exciting event for all involved.
The Lawn Tennis Tournament was organized in a round-robin format, where each player played against every other player in the group stage, with the top four players progressing to the knockout stage. The matches were played in the school’s tennis court, and each match consisted of three sets. The competition was fierce, and the players displayed excellent skills and tactics on the court. In the end, the top four players competed in the semi-finals, with the two winners facing each other in the final. In the finals in U-10 category Dhruv Kulkarni (Ajanta Public School) emerged first followed by Daiwik Yadav (Ajanta Public School) in the second position and thereafter Vihaan Kapoor (Ajanta Public School) and Adhyyan (DPS-Sec 45) in the third position. UNDER 10 (GIRLS).
1st position was bagged by Sharvi Gahlot (Gems international School) followed by Renessa Kapoor (Ajanta public School) in the second position. Overall, the event was well-organized and executed and all the participated cheered for participating in the next edition of the tournament.
